5 You, Lord, are all I have, and You give me all I need; my future is in Your hands. 6 How wonderful are Your gifts to me; how good they are!
Christmas is the time of year when many are planning and thinking about that one special gift they will give to family, friends, and loved ones, but God the Father put His plan in motion two-thousand years ago
when He sent/gave us the gift and 1st Advent/birth of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is a free gift to humankind but it cost Him His life, which He gave “As a ransom for many.” [Mark 10:45]. He is the most extraordinary gift the world will ever receive; yet He is the gift that is still underappreciated, undervalued, and least desired.
All who receive the gift of Jesus Christ, receive what cannot be purchased; God’s peace, power, joy, love, hope, wisdom, Holy Spirit, all the fullness of God, but most importantly, salvation! He is the gift you do not need to unwrap, all you need to do is open your heart, accept, and receive Him!
In this Messianic Psalm, David acknowledges & proclaims, the Lord Jesus Christ is EVERYTHING he needs and His gifts are wonderful to him. Regardless of the gift(s) you receive this Christmas, regardless of how expensive or exquisite they may be, Jesus is the most priceless gift we have ever been or will ever be given!
Most of us have more than enough material things but we can never have too much Jesus so, when you are asked what you want for Christmas respond with, “JUST GIVE ME JESUS!” He is the reason for the season. In this last pastor’s page for 2019, my prayer is, Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]. [3 John 1:2AMP]
