1 CHRONICLES 28:20 ~ FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED

20 Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and take action; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor [a]abandon you [but will guide you in the construction] until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

Whether it’s a new job, book, project, resolution, relationship, etc., many people are motivated and great at starting BUT fail to finish, because along the way they lose enthusiasm, energy, become discouraged, or quit under the difficulty or enormity of what is required of them.  There is no better demonstration of someone who finished what they started, than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when He was in deep agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.  The final task before Him was the cross of suffering and shame yet, through prayer and faith in His Father God, He came to the place of “Nevertheless” and given strength to finish what He started!

As king David was dying, his final focus and instructions to his young son Solomon successor to the Davidic throne was to, “Take action” and finish the project of building the Temple of the Lord, despite fear, opposition, or discouragement and in 1 KINGS CHAPTER 6 is a description of the massive, magnificent Temple Solomon FINISHED FOR THE LORD

God always gives His children the strength, resources, and favor necessary to finish the good work he has begun in us especially, all things concerning the service of the house of the Lord!  God desires that His people remain undaunted, strong in the Lord, fearless, and take action in the assurance of PHILIPPIANS 1:6, “ I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].

God finishes what He starts when we,

  • Keep our mind and focus on His work!
  • Lean and depend on Him for every provision!
  • Trust and wait on His providential timing!
  • Remain determined to finish what we start and not become weary in well doing!

Finally my beloved family, “23 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.” [Colossians 3:23AMP

Let us remain excited about the work God has called us to, be faithful, continue to pray, and know that God will enable us to finish all the work for the service of the house of the Lord!!!  In Jesus’ name

Blessings & Favor,
